Severe Drought Predicted in 30 Years

by Seedorama Staff on October 19, 2010

According to a report released Tuesday by the National Center for Atmospheric Research, if greenhouse gas emissions aren’t drastically reduced in the near future, we could see severe droughts in the next 30 years.

“We are facing the possibility of widespread drought in the coming decades, but this has yet to be fully recognized by both the public and the climate change research community,” said scientist Aiguo Dai with the organization.

Billions of dollars are already spent in the US each year on drought, but that number is to drastically increase if gasses aren’t eliminated. Not only that, many lives will be lost not only in the US, but specifically in continents who don’t have the resources to combat it, such as Africa.

Whatever, this global warming is a hoax. Scientist fudged numbers, fact. ALL the planets in the solar system are warming! FACT. Look it up. Stop buying into this carbon tax scheme to further deplete our resources/money. Politicians are bought out, doesn't matter what party you are for. Grow up, get educated, and stop making this country worse for all of us by your short sighted perception. Corporate merging with government is fascism, end of story.

People don't change until life bites them in the ass. If droughts are indeed coming, the complex political process of truly reducing the gases will take place after it is painfully obvious. While it is still debatable, no one is going to commit to a solution especially those who stand to lose something like big energy corporations for example.
Of course some say it isn't debatable and other say even if it is true there's too much money at stake. Others say it is a big scientific conspiracy and others just don't care. Either way, until you feel the effects of what may or may not be coming on a personal level, you're going to be more or less complacent and carry on as you usually do more or less. People can argue that every scientific academy in the industrialized world is in on a big money-making conspiracy called 'climate change' while others will foretell the end of the world if we don't act now. Either way people never change, unless they have to and even then they sometimes won't.

  • No

They don't even believe in Evolution unanimously yet, good luck with this.

  • I'm honestly not sure what to make of all the environmental predictions. It seems everyone has an agenda of some sort.

My faith in the corporate world's ability to make positive change beyond their share price is faint, at best.

We have all of this science and technology, yet rarely does it make a significant impact. We can carry 40000 songs in our pocket (iPod) yet we burn coal to power the technology. How very primitive.

I don't know what things will be like in 30 years, though I have this nagging feeling that it won't be what I had hoped for.

In California, few days ago, there was a change in temperature of 50 degrees in a day . Can the people that doesn't believe in climate change explains this?

  • Idiot

    Weather.

you guys should read some papers on paleo-climatology you might learn something.

  • Kenknutson

key word "possibility", ... this is simply irresponsible, read "World turned Upside Down". Then stop this wasteful crying, wailing about the sky falling and get on with your life.

Ill have to remember to buy stock in seed companies in 25 years.

  • Spook

they cant predict weather 24 hours in advance accurately. now they try to do it 30 years in advance? cmon.

  • billy

climate and weather have relationships with one another, but are very different phenomenons. meteorology 101 anyone?

  • i think this is a load of bull

  • I think climate on the earth will be extremely. some are on drought, some are flooded. Now the earth cannot make moderated all area, because of human activities. we are doing more than earth's capacity.

  • this is bad....very bad..

check out internets hottest babes! --> http://goo.gl/DcgJ

  • We will surely all die of thirst!

  • I hope they reduce the gases
